Joyce Chen is a writer, editor, and community builder.

She is an essayist interested in topics like time, silence, and liminal spaces as they relate to agency, power, and intercultural understanding. Her cultural criticism and features have appeared in places as wide-ranging as Rolling Stone and Orion magazines.

Joyce is also the executive director of The Seventh Wave, an arts and literary nonprofit that champions art in the space of social issues.
